Everyone needs a strong password. If your password can be guessed or found in a dictionary or is a common name, it is a potential point of entry for a hacker.
A strong password should have both numbers and letters in both uppercase and lowercase and preferably special characters such as {} [] ,. !$%&* #~`. It should be at the very minimum six characters long.
Here are some examples of good and bad passwords:
Bad Password | Good Password |
james | jb1102CA! |
ab1212 | @B!2!2p@$$ |
unicorn | UNIc0rn[][] |
losangeles | 10s@ng313$ |
One way to create and remember these passwords is to associate letters with numbers or symbols. For example l -> 1, o -> 0, a -> @, s -> $, e -> 3, and so forth.
Remember: Never share your passwords with other people because you can be held accountable for their actions.
